Unusual Eight-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Leaf Decoration, Inscribed "T.H. FENTON," Thomas Fenton, Tallmadge, Summit County, OH, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and rounded rim, featuring a slip-trailed leaf below a large number 8. Shoulder incised with the cobalt-highlighted name, "T.H. FENTON." Significant restoration to proper right side of crock's front, shoulder/rim area on right side, and reverse. Restoration paint covers much of right handle, although handle appears to be largely intact. H 16".
