Exceptional Large-Sized Slip-Decorated Redware Loaf Dish with Copper Application, Philadelphia, PA origin, fourth quarter 18th century, rectangular form with coggled edge, the lead-glazed interior decorated in yellow slip with wavy stripes, foliate devices, and a central marbled band, overlain with splashes of copper. Exceptional decoration and size. Provenance: Excavated decades ago in Philadelphia. Broken into large pieces with significant professional restoration throughout. L 17 7/8" ; W 12".
