Unusual Redware Jar or Churn with Crossed Manganese Decoration, possibly Southern U.S., mid 19th century, narrow-bodied, semi-ovoid form with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, the lead-glazed surface decorated throughout with haphazard crossing manganese brushwork. Dramatic application of decoration, featuring appealing runs. Provenance: Ex-David Good Collection. Very nice condition with some light surface wear, some wear to interior of rim, and tiny chips and wear to inner rim for lid. H 13 1/2".
