Scarce Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "Manufactured by / J.H. Miller / Brandenburg. KY," circa 1860, cylindrical jar with thin, squared rim, featuring J.H. Miller maker's stenciling in vivid cobalt. Impressed with inverted "2" at shoulder on reverse. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a few vertical surface lines on interior and an in-the-firing surface fissure on interior base, none of which extends through to the exterior. H 11 3/8".
