Rare Glazed Figural Raccoon Jug, Inscribed and Signed "Night Bandit / Albert Hodge / VALE / NC," 21st century, wheel-thrown jug with hand-modeled and applied features in the form of a seated raccoon holding a fish, its tail forming the vessel's handle. Surface decorated with cream and black slip over orange clay and covered in a clear lead glaze. Exhibited: All Creatures Great and Small, Georgia Museum of Art, April 20, 2011 to October 16, 2012. Provenance: Carl and Marian Mullis Collection; On long-term loan to Colonial Williamsburg, 2019 to 2023. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 9 1/2".
