Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Mogadore, OH origin, second quarter 19th century, ovoid jug with squared spout, brush-decorated with a stem bearing three tulips with long, curving stamens. Freehand "3" at shoulder. Chipping to edge of spout, some of which occurred in the firing. A small in-the-making surface chip to right of decoration, which has been painted with cobalt and salt-glazed over. H 15".
