Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Spittoon Lamp, Stamped "R.C.R. / PHILA," Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, cylindrical form with concave sides, footed base, carved oblong opening at shoulder, and recessed circular opening in to, brush-decorated with three foliate motifs around the body and cobalt daubs around the opening at the shoulder. Converted into a lamp with wooden base. Drilled hole in underside of spittoon to be converted into a lamp. Otherwise excellent condition. H 20 1/2".
