Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Western PA origin, circa 1875-1885, a one-gallon jar with the rare maker's stenciling, "ENEIX / & / FRANKENBERRY / NEW GENEVA. / PA.," circa 1875; paired with a two-gallon jar with freehand stripe decoration, stenciled "WILLIAMS AND REPPERT. / GREENSBORO. PA.," circa 1885. Shorter with a 1" hairline from rim, two minor chips to exterior of rim, small chips around interior of rim, and whitish residue to surface. Taller with wear to cobalt, a minor nick to interior of rim, two minor nicks to inner rim for lid, in-the-firing base chips, and a short surface line to underside, not visible on interior, and an in-the-firing ping to interior base. H (of shorter) 10 1/2".
