Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Swan Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, third quarter 19th century, tapered jar with semi-squared rim and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a swan atop stylized water. Cobalt highlight to capacity mark. A small chip to one handle. Two minor glazed-over chips to one handle. A glazed-over in-the-firing ping to shoulder. A very minor 1/2" in-the-firing surface line to interior of rim. A chip to interior of rim. Light wear to inner rim for lid. Yellowish Albany slip drip to front. H 13 1/2".
