Fine Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK & CO / LYONS," NY State origin, circa 1850, cylindrical crock with applied lug handles and tooling to shoulder and rim, brush-decorated with tulip plant bearing two spotted blossoms and well-detailed leaves. Brushed "3" above. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. A sealed top-to-bottom crack from rim on reverse. A 1" hairline above one handle. Some bubbling to cobalt and surface staining. H 10 1/8".
