Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITE'S UTICA," NY State origin, circa 1865, cylindrical jug with tooled shoulder and tapered spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a fan-tailed bird atop a stylized branch. Provenance: Ex-Walter Washburn Collection, Denlinger Auctions, July 19, 1992. (Auction sticker on reverse.) Cobalt accent to maker's mark. Some wear to cobalt. A small spout chip and tiny spout nick. Handle with a horizontal hairline and a minor in-the-firing ping. H 14".
