Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "SIPE & SONS / W'MSPORT PA," circa 1885, ovoid jug with squared spout, brush-decorated with a large design of a heavily-petaled daisy or sunflower with spotted center. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Folky decoration with excellent color. Very nice condition with some in-the-firing pings and contact marks to surface, minor staining, two small spout chips, and two tiny spout nicks. H 12 3/4".
