Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "VAN SCHOIK & DUNN / Makers, / Middletown Point, N.J.," circa 1855, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with of a double-stemmed flowering plant including a number 3 above. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. A top-to-bottom crack on far right side of crock's from, extending onto underside. Spots of staining. H 9 3/8".
