Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Jackson Courthouse, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1885, tapered jar with rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "GRAHAM & STONE. / GEN'. MERCHANDISE. / JACKSON C.H. / W. VA." Freehand stripe decoration above and below. A small chip to underside at edge. Three chips to interior of rim. A shallow chip to inner wax sealer rim. Light surface wear. H 10 1/4".
