Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Lid, NY State origin, third quarter 19th century, wheel-thrown lid with stepped top featuring molded and applied acanthus leaves, decorated with an elaborate slip-trailed lines. Possibly made for a water cooler. A reglued 3" piece at rim. Chips to flange on underside. A salt drip to top. Diam. 9 1/2" ; H 2 1/2".
