Unusual Stoneware Jar with Abstract Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Palatine, WV or Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, brush-decorated with a large plant with splayed leaves, emanating from a wavy ground. Additional large swag decoration to the right. A 3 1/2" spider line on underside, including two lines extending approximately 2" and 1 1/4" up front. Some light surface wear. H 9 1/4".
