One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with tall collar and applied lug handles, brush-decorated around the body with a horizontal stem bearing tulips and graduated leaves. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. One rim chip. One handle chip. Some in-the-firing flaws to surface, including two chips to shoulder. Two small chips to underside at edge. H 9 3/4".
