One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG," PA origin, circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with tall collar and tapered rim molding, decorated with a horizontally-brushed design of a tulip. Brushed "X" to spout. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. A tight Y-shaped crack on underside, forming a 2 5/8" tall Y on left side of pitcher, a 1" T at base on front of pitcher, and a 1 1/4" line at base on right side of pitcher. A 3" hairline to left side of spout. Two small spout chips. A very minor, glazed-over rim chip. H 11 1/2".
