Four Pieces of Utilitarian Pottery, American, 19th century, an ovoid lead-glazed redware jug with manganese decoration, PA origin, mid 19th century; a half-gallon stoneware jar, stamped "D.P. HOBART Agent / Williamsport, Pa," circa 1880; a two-gallon floral-decorated stoneware pitcher, attributed to Samuel Irvine, Newville, PA, circa 1865; and a stoneware bottle with impressed star and cobalt highlights, stamped "J. HINDLE'S POP," Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century. Jug with heavy chipping to base, exfoliation to surface, two small chips to spout, and a chip and wear to handle. Pitcher with poorly-restored rim and spout, unrestored base chips, and traces of old paint to surface. Hobart jar with three rim chips, a Y-shaped hairline to underside, and water glass staining to interior. Bottle with spider line to base and an in-the-firing ping to reverse. H (of pitcher) 13".
