Rare Small-Sized Molded Redware Pitcher, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, elaborately-molded pitcher with ornate handle, relief grapevine motif to body, and spout in the form of a stylized bird's face, the surface decorated with streaks of manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Underside impressed with John Bell maker's mark. Excellent condition with only minor flaws. A minor chip to top edge of spout, some minor wear to tip of spout, and a small chip and a few minuscule nicks to right side of rim. Additionally, some typical in-the-firing contact marks to bottom edge. H 5 3/8".
