One-Gallon Stoneware Pan with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J.M. HICKERSON / STRASBURG, VA," circa 1880, wide-bodied, flaring form with squared rim and small lug handles, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with undulating stem bearing a large flower blossom. Impressed under one handle with an inverted J.M. Hickerson maker's mark. Small chips around much of rim. Otherwise excellent condition. Dimensions: H 6 1/2" x Diam 9".
