Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BURGER / ROCHESTER," NY State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a flowering plant, featuring a blossom with alternating shading to the petals and three buds. Slip-trailed "3." above. Cobalt accents to maker's mark. Very nice condition with some staining, minor surface, and two in-the-firing surface chips (contact marks) to one side. H 16 3/4".
