Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral and Chain Link Decoration, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1850, ovoid jar with tall collar and unusual semi-open handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a leafy stem bearing fan-shaped blossoms below a chain-link-decorated collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Three rim chips. A thin 5 1/4" crack from rim. A 2 1/2" base flake and other base chips. Minor traces of old green paint to interior. A small in-the-firing ping to shoulder. H 13 3/4".
