One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "BRAYTON & KELLOGG / UTICA," NY State origin, circa 1827-1832, highly-ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, brush-decorated with a drooping floral motif above a series of dashes. Heavy cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Essentially as-made condition with a few in-the-firing contact marks / clay residue to one side, a 1" in-the-firing line at base, and some light staining. H 11 1/4".
