Scarce Small-Sized Stoneware Pitcher, Stamped "THOMAS & BRO., Huntingdon, PA origin, circa 1870, ovoid pitcher with footed base and wide collar, the surface covered in a brown Albany slip glaze. Literature: Illustrated in Lasansky, Made of Mud: Stoneware Potteries in Central Pennsylvania 1831-1929. Provenance: Estate of author and historian, Nancy Shedd, Petersburg, PA; acquired by Shedd at Kinzle Sale Management Service, American Stoneware Pottery II, The Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Reynolds, Duncansville, PA, 1976, lot 310. A 3 1/4" diagonal crack from rim. Minor rim and spout wear. Residue to interior and rim. H 6 1/2".
