Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Horse Head Decoration, NY State Origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a horse's head with bridle and reins. Desirable decoration and size. A 3 1/2" hairline from rim on side of crock. A 2 1/4" hairline from rim on front of crock. A tiny nick to interior of rim. A small, glazed-over chip to one handle. Two tiny in-the-firing iron pings to surface. Light staining. H 7 3/8".
