Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, third quarter 19th century, a two-gallon cylindrical jug with slip-trailed flowering vine motif, stamped "O L & A K BALLARD. / BURLINGTON . VT," paired with a three-gallon cylindrical jug with elaborate slip-trailed floral motif, stamped "PORTER & FRASER, / WEST TROY, N Y." Ballard jug with staining, spout chips, and various cracks. Porter & Fraser jug with restoration to spout and shoulder area, some bubbling to cobalt, and minor surface wear to reverse/side. H (of taller) 15 1/2".
