Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JULIUS NORTON / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1840, highly-ovoid jug with squared spout, decorated with a brushed design of a flowering plant with four buds emanating from a mound. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with minor chipping to bottom edge of spout and minor in-the-firing flaws, including a minor ping to spout. H 15 1/4".
