Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Northeastern U.S. origin, second quarter 19th century, bowl-shaped jar with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with abstract cobalt brushwork on one side. Cobalt highlights to capacity mark and handle terminals. A 5" diagonal surface line ascending from base, not visible on interior. Two spots of wear to reverse. A tiny handle chip. A small piece of adhered clay at shoulder on front. H 10 5/8" ; Diam. 10 3/4".
