Rare Multi-Glazed Redware Jar, attributed to J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, small-sized, ovoid jar with flared collar and recessed rim to hold a lid, the surface dipped in cream-colored slip, decorated with splashed copper and manganese, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Very nice condition. Small chips and wear to rim and inner rim for lid. A small in-the-firing contact mark (glaze flake) near midsection beside a very small (likely in-the-firing) glaze nick. Minor glaze loss near base. H 6 1/2".
