Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Incised Floral Decoration, Manhattan, NY origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, flared collar, and open loop handles, decorated on the front and reverse with an incised and cobalt-highlighted floral motif with scalloped blossom resembling a cluster of grapes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Exfoliation to bottom half of jar, almost entirely relegated to one side. A few rim and base chips. An in-the-firing contact mark to one side. H 15".
