One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. NORTON & CO: / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1860, cylindrical jar with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with an elaborate slip-trailed floral spray accented with spots. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with two small chips and a minor nick to one handle, as well as two minor chips to inner rim for lid. H 10 1/2".
