Two Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, both of ovoid form, one with horizontal tulip motif on the front and reverse, attributed to the Parr family, the other with vine decoration on the front and reverse. Taller jar with chip to interior of rim, base chips, a 3" Y-shaped surface line near base on side of jar, a 1 1/4" chip to one handle, and a vertical line at base, extending onto underside, primarily visible on interior only. Other jar with a chip to exterior of rim, a small chip to interior of rim, minor surface wear, and two in-the-firing base chips. H (of taller) 14 1/4".
