Two Pieces of Central PA Stoneware, circa 1865-1885, a two-gallon ovoid pitcher with brushed cobalt leaf decoration, stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX. / HARRISBURG .PA," circa 1865; paired with a two-gallon ovoid jug with brushed cobalt tulip plant motif, stamped "SIPE & SONS / W'MSPORT, PA," circa 1885. Pitcher with base broken into pieces and reglued on front/right side of pitcher, a large chipped area to right of spout with a 5" hairline descending from it, and a 2" line to spout above maker's mark. Jug with heavy chipping to spout and two in-the-firing horizontal lines at base on reverse, which are glazed over. H (of pitcher) 12 1/2".
