Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "C.W. BRAUN / BUFFALO N.Y.," circa 1870, semi-ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a flowering plant, including a well-detailed blossom with elongated stamen, stripes to the leaves, and a fern-like stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Significant restoration to left side of spout, extending from front to reverse. A 4" x 1 7/8" restored section to base on front. A 2 1/4" restored crack(?) to left of decoration. H 16".
