Two-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Impressed Eagle Motif, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN," attributed to Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, circa 1812-1827 highly-ovoid jug with footed base and heavily-tooled spout, the shoulder decorated with an impressed design of two spread-winged eagles perched on branches, each with checkerboard patterning to their interiors. Dipped iron-oxide decoration to upper and lower body. Large section of spout restored from front center to right side of spout. An in-the-firing ping to foot on reverse. H 14 1/2".
