One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Impressed Fish Decoration, attributed to Jonathan Fenton, Boston, MA, late 18th century, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and tall neck with semi-squared spout, decorated with a large impressed and cobalt-highlighted design of a fish. A smooth 3/4" spout chip with old residue from use to spout and chip. Some crazing to underside, extending onto base area. Staining to surface. Typical in-the-firing flaws to surface, including a surface chip near base. H 13 1/4".
