Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Manganese Foliate Decoration, attributed to William C. Coffman or his Sons, Elkton, Rockingham County, VA, third quarter 19th century, ovoid pitcher with tall collar, tooled rim, and ribbed strap handle, decorated around the midsection in manganese slip with a leafy, undulating vine. Manganese highlights to handle terminals. Very nice condition. A small filled spout chip. A faint, approximately 9" line extending from left side of the middle of the pitcher's collar to the right side of the middle of the pitcher. H 10 3/4".
