Large-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1880, tapered jar with rounded shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, decorated with a brushed fuchsia between freehand stripes. Incised "X" on underside, original to the jar's manufacture. Some fry to cobalt. A minor chip to front of rim and a tiny nick to interior of rim. H 10".
