Exceptional Redware Plate with Profuse Three-Color Slip Decoration, Berks County, PA origin, 19th century, small-sized plate decorated with slip-trailed manganese crosshatching, cream-colored spotting at each intersection, and a copper swag on the interior of each square, all under a clear lead glaze. This work is among the most extravagantly-decorated American redware plates that we have ever offered. Provenance: From a recently-surfaced CA collection. Excellent condition, the interior with two small scratches and minimal wear, the rim with a small chip and a few extremely minor nicks. Diam. 6 3/4".
