Rare Tanware Vase, Greensboro or New Geneva, PA origin, circa 1885, slender form with semi-ovoid body and flared rim, decorated in Albany slip with elaborate fuchsia vine designs surrounding dipped sections of Albany slip. Sections of underside are reglued. Provenance: From a CA consignor, whose mother collected Western PA pottery decades ago. A 1 3/8" missing section in underside is filled with wax(?), which also covers the interior base of the vase. This damage also includes two short, thin cracks at base. H 7 7/8".
