Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Stamped "SWAN & STATES / STONINGTON," CT origin, circa 1825, a half-gallon ovoid jar and a one-gallon ovoid jug, both with cobalt highlights to the maker's mark and handle terminals. Jar with a large in-the-firing separation descending from rim on interior, not visible on exterior, minor crazing to base area, minor in-the-firing contact marks, and a small salt drip to reverse. Jug with a flake to top of spout and spout chips, most of which are covered in a yellow sealer, a 2 3/4" line to spout/shoulder area, small base chips, and some small in-the-firing flaws to surface.
