One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Dated "1840," Northeastern U.S. origin, 1840, ovoid jug with rounded spout, decorated with brushed swags below the date, "1840." Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Some in-the-firing wrinkles/fissures at base and on underside as well as a small in-the-firing iron ping near base on front. H 12".
