Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Inkwell, attributed to Nathan Clark, Sr. or Clark & Fox, Athens, NY, circa 1830-1840, cylindrical form with central ink hole, small vent hole, and two quill holes, featuring coggled circle decoration to shoulder and top. Top further decorated with brushed swag decoration. Cobalt highlights to central ink hole and banded top edge of inkwell. Hairline extending from inkhole to edge, and descending a short distance down wall of inkwell, where it forms a T. A tiny base chip. Staining to surface. Dimensions: 4" x 2".
