Scarce Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "T. HARRINGTON / LYONS," NY State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a branch. Slip-trailed "4" above. Slip-trailed highlights to maker's mark. Desirable decoration and maker, featuring excellent color. Staining to surface. An in-the-firing piece of adhered clay to reverse and some minor in-the-firing flaws to surface. A restored 3/4" spout chip. A small spout chip and minor wear to spout. A 2" restored chip(?) to base. A smaller unrestored base chip. H 17 3/4".
