One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Bowl with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX, / HARRISBURG .PA," circa 1865, ovoid bowl with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, decorated with a brushed design of graduated flower blossom emanating from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Desirable form with exceptional color. A 1" chip to side of rim. Minor wear to interior of rim. Some light fry to cobalt. H 5 1/2" ; Diam. 11 3/4".
