Unusual Stump-Form Redware Match Safe with Applied Bird, American or European, late 19th century, cylindrical stump with incised bark and applied bird, the surface coated in cream-colored slip, decorated with splashes of copper, manganese, and reddish-brown glaze, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Excellent condition with a shallow in-the-making base chip. H 4".
