Rockingham-Glazed Figure of a Spaniel, Ohio origin, second half 19th century, molded figure of a Cavalier King Charles spaniel seated on a rectangular base with canted corners, the surface covered in a reddish-brown Rockingham glaze. Incised crosshatching to tail and details to paws. Provenance: Property deaccessioned by the Miller House Museum, Hagerstown, MD. As-made condition with a glazed-over 2 3/4" loss to base as well as a small in-the-firing contact mark/glazed-over chip to side of ear. H 10 1/4".
