Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "A. CONRAD / NEW / GENEVA. / PA.," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring Alexander Conrad maker's stenciling surrounding a stenciled rose, flanked by additional stenciled floral motifs. Stenciled "3" with flourishes at base. Freehand stripe below rim and cobalt highlights to handle terminals. An in-the-firing salt drip to front. A 4" Y-shaped surface line on front, not visible on interior. A small in-the-firing bloated spot to reverse. Minor surface wear. H 13 1/4".
