Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Spittoon, attributed to David Parr, Jr., Richmond, VA, circa 1865, cylindrical form with footed base, recessed circular opening in top, and carved opening at shoulder, decorated around the shoulder with four groups of graduated freehand swags. Impressed "1" on top of rim. Two cracks emanating from the opening on the top of the spittoon. A minor glazed-over chip to top edge. H 4 3/4" ; Diam. 8 5/8".
